There are some cool-sounding jobs posted on the Film Fodder site. I was looking for a work at home writing gig when I happened upon this site. I’m more of a at-home DVD viewing type of a gal at this point, but I’m sure that some of you out there would appreciate this lead. Film Fodder is looking for a Movie News Blogger. There are also job listings for people to write other film-related info. Check out the jobs page.

I believe that success is nothing without putting Him first. Walking with Him is success in itself. Therefore, every task that we do must be completed as He would have us to complete the tasks. I believe that is important for us to become good stewards of all that we have here on earth. I do not feel that we all will become wealthy in the way that man hopes us to become wealthy. A wealthy person may have health, loved ones, and the love of others. Is having a brand new car as important as having transportation? I do believe that carrying debt is acting as a slave to your creditors. Becoming debt-free may not answer all of your problems, but it may lighten your load and help you to focus more on the important things in life.

There are some great deals on eBay, but it is also tempting turf for scammers. Always read seller ratings left by people who made purchases from the seller. Ask the seller about alternate shipping options , next day shipping or shipping using a particular company, before your bid or buy. Inform the seller that you would like a tracking number for your purchase (before you buy).
I recently purchased a book using eBay. I didn’t ask the seller how the book will be shipped when I made the purchase. After I purchased the book, I naturally made this inquiry. The seller couldn’t recall how the book was shipped. He thinks it was shipped via UPS. Huh? How could someone not remember that detail. Ok. Maybe the person had 25 items to send and used different companies for most of them.
Next, I asked for a tracking number. The seller told me that he does not purchase tracking numbers. What? Red flags have definitely been raised. Tracking numbers are not purchased unless mail is sent via the United States Postal Service, otherwise are freely given when you ship a package. I am hoping that this is all a big mix-up and I’ll receive my book this week. We’ll see. It’s better to ask for specific shipping information before you spend your money. Lesson learned!

I’ve learned my lesson. If I plan to save money, I better be antisocial around lunchtime. It never fails. When the noon hour rolls around, my boss and other hungry souls persuade me that whatever is in my lunch box isn’t good enough for consumption. Well, actually, I usually can come to that conclusion all by myself. I don’t know how this happens. I pack my lunch with every intention of eating the food. I wouldn’t go through the trouble of packing something that I hate. I’m hooked on fried chicken salads and honey mustard sauce from my favorite fast food joint. I’ve tried to bring my own homemade salads, but they just aren’t good enough. I also think that I don’t want to be left out of the crowd, and the only one with a dowdy lunch bag while everyone else is eating fresh salads in a cozy deli.
I promise that I had my last fast food deli fling today. I even celebrated with a brownie. I feel like a smoker quitting the habit. No more pack a day habit. No more $10 a day lunches. I just wish that I could wear a patch or something to help me kick the habit. I don’t want to know how much I’ve spent on lunch since January. I know it’s a ridiculously high amount. So I am now taking an oath to eat when I bring with me or perish. I am swearing off fried chicken salads and fried food of all types (again). In fact, I’m going to return to the gym. Will they still remember me?
With the money I save, I’ll be wealthier. I could easily save $100 per month. Since I am swearing off the billion calories and fat in fried food, I’ll be healthier. And since I’ll get my rusty dusty up and off to the gym, I’ll be toner and have more energy. I’m motivated! On second thought, I may have to leave my debit card at home, just in case.

Becoming a debt free consumer is a slow and steady process. Although I advocate getting a work at home job, having a business will enable you to build wealth. Here’s an example. Suppose you had an apartment cleaning business. You clean apartments for a living, and you get paid per apartment. You may also begin to clean offices and other small businesses. You are doing alright, but you are exhausted.
You begin to diversify and write articles about starting a cleaning business. You write an eBook in your spare time. You slowly establish yourself as an expert, and you earn royalties from your writing. Thanks to your royalties, you can put away money for your retirement. Next, you develop your own cleaning product. Since you are an expert in the field now, people trust you and buy your product. Of course, you market the product through your writing and also through your cleaning business (if you still have your business). You can sell your business or simply have others work for you. Think about touring, becoming a motivational speaker and workshops teaching people how to start cleaning businesses and selling your books and cleaning product. That can all happen. The trick, however, is to market yourself and become an expert in your field.
You may need to have a work at home job in addition to your full-time job to supplement your income. But don’t limit yourself to merely having a work at home job. Spend a little time each week in starting your own business. Find a business idea with marketing potential that is of interest to you. If you have a product idea, that’s even better. Keep in mind that it may take several years for you to reach your goals. Don’t give up. Just think of becoming a debt free consumer as a slow and steady process.
