I know someone who is getting into selling Arbonne beauty products. Selling beauty products is not my thing, but it’s interesting to see just how she does it. She tells everybody about the product. She even told a man about it during lunch. She’s on her cell phone, talking about the products. She wears the products herself and shows me how they are helping her skin. I think that she’s only started with Arbonne about three weeks ago and she has three people interested in attending a seminar about it! I think that’s pretty good. She is persistent, too. I told her that I’m not interested in the product and she continues to tell me about — not in a pushy sort of way. She just keeps telling me how this cream is helping her skin. She has even taken before and after pictures!
I can also hear that when she tells people about her business she sells the top benefits. For example, the person who brought her into the company has a white Mercedes, that’s paid for by Arbonne. So, this woman always mentions to perspective recruits the white Mercedes and how she wants one. She also makes it sound like it’s easy to get the white Mercedes. Honestly, I don’t know if it’s easy or not to earn a white Mercedes through this company. I do know that people who you recruit into a business don’t want to feel as though it would take them 20 years to earn a profit or get a reward. Financial goals should be attainable. If you are in a sales business, you need to sell the attainable goals related to your business. I’m still not interested, but if I were somewhat interested, I’d go for it!
She also finds out what the person likes and tells the person about products that fit their tastes. She knows that I like natural stuff and herbs, so of course she tried to sell me on the fact that the products have herbs in them.
My lesson for today is that if you want to be in business, you have got to network and market your goods. I hate selling, but sales makes the world go around. Networking is a numbers game, I think. If you talk to enough people, you will get a bite. If you are persistent and have a knack for selling, that’s all the better.
