I knew the importance of keywords for drawing traffic to a site. Every article I read, stated that I needed to use articles rich in keywords. The articles, however left out some important information. Which key words should I use? I didn’t know, so I made up my own. I chose words and phrases that sounded good and devised ingenous ways to use them in my articles. If my article was about locating a work at home job, I was careful to repeat that exact phrase a couple of times in my article. Nothing happened. My traffic stayed the same. I soon realized my error. I had to use certain keywords. I needed to use words that people were typing in search engines. I also needed to use phrases that were not overly selected by other websites, because there were probably 500,000 sites using the same key words. In essence, I needed to conduct some Internet-based research to locate words that were searched for, but were not currently overused in other websites. Lucky for your, I found a sites to help you conduct your internet based research for your websites or blogs.
Adwords Type in your key words and this site will let you know how many searches have been conducted for the word in a popular search engine and what the competition is like if you would like to advertise using the keyword. If the green bar is completely filled, there is a lot of competition for the keyword phrase. I usually avoid those keywords or phrases. Now, if you see that the green bar for the number of searches is filled (even a little bit) and there doesn’t appear to be a lot of competition for the word (it’s only filled halfway) you can try using that search term in your site.
